Talk about howling wind! The 92 degree temp was wonderful when we arrived
in Aurora, but the wind is not fun at all! Our spot for the next few days is
Cherry Creek state park. First state park this rig has been in, and it's a
nice one! We have peek-a-boo views of the Rockies and lots of room. Gotta love it!

Wish we had something like this in Washington! Look at the
space between rigs!

Went to Mandy & Jake's (our niece and nephew-in-law) for hugs and dinner tonight, and had a wonderful
visit. Guess what Mandy fixed for dessert? Root beer floats! She
knows her Aunt Geri likes them. Whatta sweetie she is! And a great team they
are, too. Mandy fixed dinner and Jake did the dishes. I think we'll keep them!

Talk about an absolutely perfect day! The weather was nice
and warm with a little bit of a breeze.
Uncle Bruce brought a new toy for Cody, and she loved it!
See the smile on her face?
The toy was pretty much destroyed by the time we left. LOL

Mandy and Jake are in the process of adopting a new member
into their family! No one knows for sure what gender or age the child will
be except under two years of age, and their whole family is supporting their efforts and very excited for
them. Awhile back they created a Secret Letter page on Facebook to let their friends and
family know that they would be receiving some kind of exciting news soon.
When we all received the letter, it told of their hope to adopt a child out
of the Foster-to-Adopt program and a leaf was enclosed for us to write our
thoughts or wishes on to be added to a tree on the wall in the kidlet's
room. We excitedly sent ours back immediately!
Mandy works for the adoption department in their county, and we're all
hoping things fall into place for them sooner rather than later. They'll be
excellent, doting parents. The adoption process is quite an ordeal, not complete yet and there are no
guarantees! We know some people who should have gone through all of this
scrutiny before they were allowed to have their children!
The box of toys you see in the picture below came from
Jake's mother. She had saved some of Jake's favorite toys from his childhood
and has given them to Jake and Mandy for their new addition. How cool! The
guitar was Jake's first guitar, and you can bet their little one will hear
his/her dad singing him/her to sleep.
The room awaits the new little one soon to be part of
our family. Darling decorations!

They have to have a crib and a bed ready. Both?! As well
as baby basics, etc.
These things were a requirement. The love in them was added happily.

Two of our favorite people in the whole wide world.

Lunch was a tasty BBQd pizza accompanied by a fruit platter, and
we all went for a half-hour hike afterward. What happens when you take a
65-year-old, out-of-shape flatlander and put her at 5,300'+ on a warm day
with a niece whose legs are longer than her own and who's a strider, and go
uphill and downhill and uphill and ... ? Can you
say short of breath? Geez! We made one breather stop, and off we went to
finish the hike. Even Cody was dragging toward the end, and they do this
every day!
When we got back to the house, we were served Moon Pie ice
cream and Mint Milano cookies. YUM! Geri was the only one who had dessert,
though! Oh well, ya snooze ya lose guys!
We left them about 4 p.m. to let them rest or do whatever
they choose to do. Wonderful day with wonderful people! We'll see you guys
at our place tomorrow. Mandy said they love Cherry Creek state park, so
it'll be fun to host them for a change.

The kids came over about 5:00 for dinner. They both enjoyed
seeing our trailer all set up. Our dinner and visiting was wrapped up beside a campfire
roasting smores and/or just plain marshmallows. Doesn't get much better than that! Most RV parks don't have
fire rings, so we took advantage of the opportunity and enjoyed every minute
of it. There's something so relaxing about a campfire. Even more relaxing
to Mandy was one of our recliners in the trailer. She rocked and rocked and was about
ready to take one home with her! LOL
We sure had an awesome weekend, you two, and very special
quality time! Thank you for sharing with us. You're in our thoughts and prayers always! XO XO XO
(the last one is for Cody ;=)
